Personal Description:
⏩PhD scholar and Experienced Tutor and Specialist for Mathematics, PYTHON Programming, and Physics for Senior and university level⏪
Based in Cork, willing to travel 10 km and can also tutor online.
For me, teaching is not only a fulfilling profession but provides inner happiness and a sense of achievement. I have more than 5 years of experience teaching Mathematics, Physics, and Python programming.
I am also pursuing my career becoming a full-time Electrical Engineering lecturer by completing a PhD.
I am currently a second-year PhD student in Electrical Engineering from a leading University (MTU) in Cork. I also completed my MSc in Control Theory and Control Engineering.
I specialise in Maths, Python programming and Physics for all levels (Junior, senior, and university).
Tutoring Experience:
In my career, I have successfully tutored for more than 7 years with a large variety of backgrounds and levels, including secondary school students, college and university students, casual students. I have also been a formal teacher assistant for 2 years at university modules.
I have experience with a range of topics, including:
-> maths and physics (Junior Cert + Leaving Cert)
-> maths (university)
-> physics (university: mechanics, applied physics)
-> machine learning and deep learning
-> coding with python and Matlab
Approach to Grinds:
If you are struggling with maths, it doesn't mean you are bad at it: most of the times it's simply because you have been provided with a bad approach!
My approach is to build a comfortable relationship based on trust with the student. According to my experience, I have learned that usually teachers try to impose their own way of teaching to students, and this very often leads to a failure. On the contrary, I am convinced that each student has a different learning path, which I try to follow leveraging her/his strengths. My aim is to get students understand *deeply* the concept of a topic, as opposed to only being able to mechanically solve exercises.
I do this by using a variety of tools, ranging from the traditional use of a pen and paper (which is actually an online whiteboard) to more advanced resources such as maths software, online resources, simulations, coding. After each online session, I send the student a pdf with the lecture notes of the lesson.
