Personal Description:
Hi! I am a Trinity College Dublin graduate in Mathematics and Music, with a first class honours degree.
I also recently graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Masters in Scoring for Film, Television, and Video Games, where I was awarded a scholarship and graduated with highest academic distinction.
As a dedicated and patient tutor, I love helping students build a solid understanding of concepts at their own pace. My goal is not only to help students achieve their academic targets but also to boost their confidence and enjoyment of the subject.
Tutoring Experience:
With over 10 years of experience teaching both online and in-person, I’ve had the pleasure of guiding students through their Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate exams in both mathematics and music.
Throughout my teaching career, I’ve honed my ability to adapt to each student’s individual learning style, ensuring that complex mathematical concepts and music theory are broken down in a clear, approachable way. Whether it’s helping a student master algebra or develop their musical ear, I pride myself on fostering a patient, supportive environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and take their time.
My focus is always on building lasting understanding, not just preparing for exams, so that students can approach challenges with confidence for the subjects.
Approach to Grinds:
My approach to grinds is tailored to the unique needs of each student, ensuring that lessons are both engaging and effective. I believe that a solid understanding of core concepts is key to success, so I focus on breaking down complex ideas into manageable steps, giving students the tools they need to tackle problems confidently. I provide plenty of practice questions to reinforce learning, and I always encourage active problem-solving during our sessions.
Homework plays a very important role in reinforcing what we cover in lessons, and I always ensure it’s purposeful and manageable. After each session, I provide notes and explanations to help students review key points at their own pace. I also offer feedback on homework to identify areas that need more focus, ensuring that students feel supported and know exactly where to improve. My goal is to foster a deep, lasting understanding, while helping students stay organised and confident as they prepare for exams and beyond.
