Information About Cormac - Carrigaline tutor

Personal Description:

My name is Cormac. I am a qualified primary school teacher, working in "Gaelscoileanna" for the last few years. I have a huge interest in the Irish language, frequently going to "ciorcail comhrá" or conversation circles like Sos Lóin and Pop-up Gaeltacht around Cork city. I also organised a group of runners and Irish-speakers (Gaelgeoirí) called "RithRá" for a while in Cork. I am constantly trying to improve my Irish and help others to learn it. I regularly attend advanced courses at University College Cork in Irish (Gaeilge).

Tutoring Experience:

My undergrad degree is a business/computers one but I qualified as a primary teacher later in life by way of a blended learning masters course. Teaching and helping others has always been a passion of mine. I have been working with a number of Gaelscoileanna, Irish-language primary schools, for the last number of years. I have also worked in special education for some of this. I am adept at tailoring my lessons/tutorials to the needs of the learner.

Approach to Grinds:

I always try to cater for the needs of the learner as much as possible and give them as much time as I can to speak the language, make mistakes, and to learn from them. I try to use innovative and engaging materials as much as possible so that the learner is encouraged to keep their learning going as much as possible themselves.
