Personal Description:

I'm a psychology student who is very passionate about language. I self taught myself Irish and French during my years at secondary school and am currently working on Spanish and Japanese alongside my lectures. I'm grade 5 on the piano and an avid swimmer. I achieved 566 points in my Leaving certificate examinations. I speak French with a southern accent and so may encourage a more native style of speaking in a student. I speak Irish in the Donegal accent which may be particularly helpful with this dialect as students often find it hard to follow

Tutoring Experience:

My main teaching experience is with offering to help my cousin improve her C level French to an A in her Junior Cert. I helped many of my peers throughout secondary school understand the mechanics of both Irish and French. I have taught several students already through this site. I also have a qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the TEFL course.

Approach to Grinds:

I believe that languages in this country are not taught correctly. I learnt very little from the countless hours i spent in classes for Irish and French. Through my own personal experiences with language learning and from the skills I have gained in studying how to teach English as a foreign language, i will blend authentic exposure to my target languages with proven methods of improving retention of any new vocabulary, grammar constructions or concepts.
