Personal Description:
I am a 23 year old working professional currently based in Letterkenny. I am currently working in the public affairs sector, working diligently on legislative matters among other projects.
I have obtained both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Arts in International Public Policy and Diplomacy, and in History and Politics respectively. I have achieved a high second class honours grade one in both.
Special interests:
Current political affairs, 20th Century Irish History (particularly in Northern Ireland and early 20th century Irish history), EU affairs (past and present), American mid-20th Century history (Cold War) and World War 2.
Tutoring Experience:
I have gained valuable experience in essay writing, showcased by two dissertations I have written, based on: the Irish War of Independence (undergraduate) and Human Rights Law (postgraduate).
Thanks to my academic experience I am well versed in essay writing, research, presenting my work whilst also delivering a large volume of assignments in both history and politics - thoroughly expanding my knowledge base.
Approach to Grinds:
Firstly, I aim to encourage students to expand their knowledge and understanding of the subject, attempting to create both enthusiasm and keen interest in the subject(s). I am keen to foster contribution while believing that value for money is paramount.
I understand and appreciate that each person has different characteristics and skills which make them tick and I aim to use this to the students’ advantage, creating a dedicated learning plan with various stages of feedback to both student and parent confidentiality.
Fostering a level of trust and understanding is key in creating an interest in the subjects.
