Information About Aoife - Dublin tutor

Personal Description:

Hello!

My name is Aoife , and I'm a passionate, hard-working and enthusiastic teacher.

I discovered the love for my subjects when I was a student myself, and first started teaching one to one instrument lessons. After realising the great joy teaching gives me, I decided to give post-primary teaching a go, and have been at it ever since!

Tutoring Experience:

I have four years contract teaching experience (qualified in 2020). I have taught a mix of all post-primary year groups, and each year have brought students through Junior and Leaving state exams. I spent my first year qualified with a majority of one to one resource hours, working with students with learning difficulties.

I have also taught grinds for six years, from the beginning of my teaching Masters to present. I have brought students through the entire Music and English Leaving Cert courses through grinds.

Approach to Grinds:

My focus with grinds is consistency. Students of English often find difficulty in how abstract the questions and content can be, so I take them through a uniform approach to study, exam skills and writing techniques so that the course work is more manageable.

It is also important to note that when teaching, my philosophy is to encourage students to strive for their personal best, not always top marks. Focusing on improving their own ability than comparison to others.
