Personal Description:

My name is Ailish LLB, LLM, Solicitor. I am a practising solicitor for 26 years. I am currently doing a part-time Doctorate in Law with University of Northumbria in conjunction with the Law Society of Ireland. My qualifications incorrectly states I obtained my LLB in 1995, it was in fact 1993, I qualified as a Solicitor in 1995 after entering into a Training Contract in London in 1993. I became a Partner at my then London firm six months after I qualified. I am also a Partner at the firm I currently practice with.

Tutoring Experience:

I do not have any teaching experience as such but I have over my years of practice taught trainee solicitors, secretaries and others on work experience in the various offices I have worked. While I was initially attending college I taught English to french students on a part-time basis for a summer.

Approach to Grinds:

I have vast experience in all areas of the law with the exception of conveyance and probate. My current practise is family law and defence litigation. I am available to give grinds in Criminal Law, plaintiff and defence litigation and family law and the Foundations of Law. My Masters that I completed in 2017 was on Punishment should fit the crime and the individual circumstances of the offender - manslaughter sentences in Ireland in the last 25 years. My doctorate is also in the area of Criminal Law. I therefore have a vast knowledge of Criminal Law.
I have practised in England, Northern Ireland and Ireland and continue to be a solicitor in each jurisdiction but I currently practice in Ireland only.
