Personal Description:
I went to the University of Fraser Valley in 2014 as a biology student. After two years of studying first and second-year science courses, I transferred to the University of Victoria and completed my BSc honors in Biochemistry in 2019. Then I got admitted to McGill University as a master's student in Human Genetics. I am currently in Montreal writing up my master thesis. In my free time, I enjoy playing guitar and watching manga.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been doing private tutoring since I was studying at UFV. I taught first and second-year biology and chemistry courses and helped many students improve their grades for the classes.
Tutoring Approach:
For me, tutoring is all about what the student wants, so I will chat with the students before the course to make sure I have an idea of their goal and their expectations. I will arrange the class to fit into the student's needs. For example, if the student wants to improve the overall grade for a course, I would ask for the learning materials that they are using in the class. Then I will ask which part that student feels the least confident at. Then, I will make my own notes based on the learning materials and go over them with the students, and if the students prefer, I also prepare a quiz or practice questions before the exam.
