Information About Xi
New Westminster tutorPersonal Description:
I am mechanical engineer turned software engineer. But before that, I had obtained two Master's degrees. One in Engineering Mechanics and the other in Computer Science. Because of those training, I have a solid foundation in mathematics and engineering.
Tutoring Experience:
While I was in my undergrad, I used to be a tutor for math and physics for my fellow students back in Purdue Univ. In my grad school, I was appointed as a Teaching Assistant for engineering mechanics, for which role I was tasked to lead a two sessions of freshmen students and give recitation lectures to them and going over home problem sets.
Tutoring Approach:
I stress a lot on fundamentals and first principals. In order to fully appreciate the mathematical intricacies, one needs to fully understand the derivation of equations from first principals. I will paint the picture of what is needed for students to succeed and develop a customized plan for the student. I will also focus on test taking skills to ensure the student can earn good grades for the class.
