Personal Description:

I am an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) of English, ESL, and History with the Waterloo Region District School Board.

I have a Master of Teaching degree from the University of Toronto where I focused my research on elevating/integrating student voice into all aspects of education. I also have a B.A. in English and History (Hons, First Class) and have extensive experience in teaching and tutoring English and English as an Additional Language (EAL). My unique skill-set and passion for teaching have helped many of my students achieve success (university admissions, scholarships). I have happily and successfully worked with students of all ages (Grade 1 - Ph.D. programs), and specialize in supporting academic writing (essays, reports) and providing innovative, student-interest-driven enrichment experiences.

I also specialize in teaching general writing skills, improving conversational English, improving public speaking and presentation skills, and enhancing reading comprehension in children and young adults.

For college, university, and workplace-oriented students, I am adept at assisting with general skill preparation sessions (including note-taking skills, test preparation tips, resume writing).

Tutoring Experience:

I have thousands of hours of experience working as a teacher in the WRDSB, volunteer teaching, and private tutoring.

I am looking to add several students to my schedule for 2022. It should be noted that I keep my student number low in order to provide the absolute best care and instruction!
