Personal Description:
Hello! I'm an engineer and humanitarian consultant who loves helping people learn STEM subjects. I did the International Baccalaureate programme (diploma score 45, HLs Math Chem Physics) and studied engineering at the University of Cambridge, later doing a Master's in Technology and Policy at MIT. Not only can I tutor on STEM subjects, I can also provide university application and career advice!
Tutoring Experience:
I have several years experience teaching various skills and subjects, including math, piano, and sailing to people of all ages and backgrounds. As part of my job, I also regularly train colleagues in technical concepts, so I am familiar with all the different ways that people learn.
Tutoring Approach:
I am highly adaptable to the student. In general I try to lean towards "guided discovery" where I help the student discover key concepts themselves - I think this is the best way to truly embed understanding in a way that is useful not only for doing well on tests, but also retaining knowledge long-term.
