Personal Description:

I am a calm and encouraging math tutor who always tries to stay positive while working with students. My favorite subject to tutor is middle school mathematics because I enjoy the extreme reactions middle schoolers have to the world around them, though my sense of humor translates well to elementary school students as well. I also enjoy explaining the "whys" behind mathematical concepts, not just the "hows."

Tutoring Experience:

I have a BS in Elementary Education with a concentration in Middle School Mathematics and years of experience as a middle school math teacher, so I know how to connect with students who are dealing with math anxiety. I try to make students feel comfortable around me because that's when the best learning happens.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that celebrating the little wins along the way is the best way to increase a student's self-confidence. I'll also ask students to explain concepts back to me as if I was younger than them to reinforce their understanding.
