Personal Description:

Working as an English tutor allows me to teach to my pupil's preferred learning style, forging a connection that simply isn't possible in a traditional school setting. I fell in love with the English language when my fifth-grade teacher encouraged me to enter an essay contest that I ultimately won. Ever since that day, I'm all about encouraging my students to do their best whether we're working on writing, reading, or SAT prep.

Tutoring Experience:

My BA is in English with a minor in Education and my master's is in Professional Writing and Literature, so you could say that all of my education revolved around helping students pursue their goals. I also have more than 18 years of teaching experience at the college level.

Tutoring Approach:

I've worked with a lot of students who found English boring or useless, and I've found that pointing out how topics like grammar and writing are relevant to their interests makes them more enthusiastic in the classroom.
