Personal Description:
Hello, my name is Tanisha. I come from a close-knit family, and my upbringing has instilled in me the values of hard work and compassion. I am currently studying finance at Western University, and I’ve been fortunate to work in roles that align with my passion for finance.
In my free time, I enjoy painting and exploring new art techniques. I also volunteered at Together With Art, which has deepened my commitment to giving back to the community. I believe in the power of empathy and creativity to bring about positive change, and I strive to embody these values in both my personal and professional life.
One of my short-term goals is to enhance my skills in teaching, while my long-term aspiration is to lead a project that makes a meaningful impact on society. I love traveling and learning about different cultures, and these experiences have broadened my horizons and enriched my understanding of the world.
Tutoring Experience:
My teaching experience includes delivering numerous presentations for more than 5+ years on various topics, such as developing leadership skills, becoming an organized individual, and staying motivated. Additionally, I have served as a library helper for 3 years, assisting students of all ages with their homework and teaching them different concepts. I have also provided significant support to my high school teachers by managing classrooms and completing various tasks, such as tracking attendance.
Furthermore, I have led several projects where I successfully managed teams and ensured the completion of objectives with a 90% success rate or a praise from other people.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is rooted in the belief that every student is unique and capable of achieving their full potential. I strive to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow. My goal is to foster a love for learning and to empower students to take ownership of their educational journey.
I would first begin with assessing where the student currently is at. This lets me come up with a study plan on the areas I need to focus on and let the child learn.
I would then set achievable goals for the student that gets them motivated to complete their work and show off their learning to me
During my tutoring sessions I would not only appraoch learning from books, but I will also adapt to interactive learning styles such as using gizmos because every student learns differently
I would work alongside with the parents and the students to make sure that I am able to meet their goals and emphasize improvement
Overall this appraoch to learning has helped me lead many students to success as such in ther adaptability of skills, as well as improved grades and actually being motivated to learning and doing well.
