Personal Description:

I love studying foreign languages, translating and interpreting, and teaching others about the languages that I know so well. In addition to working with students as a Portuguese tutor, I also tutor all levels of Spanish and courses related to these languages such as Spanish language and culture for high school and college-level students.

Tutoring Experience:

I earned my undergraduate degree in linguistics with concentrations in Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. While learning a new language can be challenging, it is something that is available to students of all ages and academic levels if they have the academic and linguistic support they need on the journey.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe it is important to facilitate a growth mindset in students because so many students are under the mistaken assumption that their academic potential is limited and that some people are simply smarter than others. When they realize that their brain is like any other muscle that can grow stronger with practice, they begin to increase their belief in themselves and their potential.
