Personal Description:
I am a third-year Dean's Honors List university student studying Biomedical Sciences at the University of Waterloo. I graduated from Cardinal Cardinal Academy for the arts with a Fine Arts specialization while achieving the four-year honor roll (average of 80%+).
Tutoring Experience:
I had the pleasure of instructing students within the math and sciences for the past two years in both High School and Elementry school.
I also enjoyed instructing fine arts for the past four years to students ranging from 3-12 years of age at Julia's Smart Art studio.
As a University student, I became a First Responder Trainer, where I teach fellow colleagues First Aid.
In high school, I was a high ranking Royal Canadian Air Cadet who instructed high school students in aviation, aerospace, and leadership.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to instructing varies depending on the student's best learning method as well as the subject. For example, students are visual learners, so I would provide detailed drawings and clear explanations to improve their understanding.
I am a huge advocate for active learning to promote higher-order thinking and deep engagement with the material.
