Personal Description:

I hold an MASc. and BASc. from the University of Toronto in Electrical and Computer engineering.

I enjoy teaching math, physics, computer programming, and english and literature!

Tutoring Experience:

I have experience in tutoring grade 11 and 12 physics and calculus. I can also tutor any computer programming course or language, as well as English and Literature subjects.

I have been a Teaching Assistant at the University of Toronto for the following courses: ECE419 Introduction to Distributed Systems, ECE1779 Introduction to Cloud Computing [Head TA], ECE1747 Parallel Programming, ECE334 Digital Electronics.

Throughout university, I was an Orientation Leader and Vice President Academic of the Engineering Society. Throughout elementary school and high school, I was a teaching assistant for youth dance classes. In the past, I have taught small children basic numeracy and literacy skills through babysitting jobs.

Tutoring Approach:

It is important for me to be able to prepare for 1-on-1 sessions in advance so that the time is used most effectively so my approach is to develop plans for each session depending on student needs. Some students need help with hands-on problem solving, while others need help to understand core concepts and theories. I can work with different approaches and needs!

My goal is to instil understanding within the student, rather than pure memorization, and to be able to explain problems in the simplest way possible. I think that this approach ensures that there is a strong foundation of knowledge and understanding that can be applied to any future problem.

I ask for the subject material (any textbooks, lessons or videos) to be sent to me prior to tutoring sessions to allow me to best prepare. I like to stick with the problems and material provided by the student's school, but can provide more challenging problems if required.

I am also available to answer additional questions over email between sessions!
