Personal Description:

Hello, I am Sofia! I am wrapping my education at the University of Alberta, where I am completing a Bachelor in Secondary Education, majoring in French. I can speak three languages; English, Spanish and French, and enjoy spending my free time outside or reading a book.

Tutoring Experience:

I have lot's of experience tutoring, especially tutoring online. Over the past year I have built an array of resources that will help us reach your goals. I have assisted students, ranging from grade 1 all the way to grade 11, while also managing teaching practicums and my piano students. I have helped them work on their French (and sometimes English) literacy skills. Focusing mainly on oral comprehension, reading and writing.

Tutoring Approach:

I first and foremost like to get to know my students. That way I know what they like, struggle with, and want to improve on. I like to personalise each lesson plan to the student I am servicing. I use Google Slides for my lessons, and will send the slides in advance to the guardian or student before our session. I am very flexible with the communication method and am willing to cater to whatever online platform the student is most comfortable with.
