Information About Sofia
Vaughan tutorPersonal Description:
I am a lifelong student with a passion for helping others learn. Outside of tutoring, I am pursuing a Master of Liberal Arts degree at Harvard University's Extension School, studying international relations. I have experience teaching learners of all ages, from elementary school students to adults seeking to learn a new skill. I am fluent in both English and French and am eager to help students discover the learning strategies that will lead to long-term academic success.
Tutoring Experience:
I have five years of experience as a freelance elementary and high school tutor, teaching subjects including English, French, history and political science along with other study skills and essay writing seminars. Additionally, I have one year of experience as a university teaching assistant, leading lectures and tutorials for journalism students, and am familiar with university grading and expectations through this work alongside my own extensive studies.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is to lead with compassion and understanding. The learning process will be different for each student, and my tutoring focuses on engaging students through individually-designed exercises to tackle the specific needs of every learner. I work with students and their families to create a unique curriculum to lead to long-term academic success.
