Personal Description:

My name is Shriya I am currently a project management professional working in a manufacturing industry in Mississauga, ON. I have completed my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from University of British Columbia and I have also completed a Post Graduate certificates from Sheridan College in Manufacturing Management and Human Resource Management.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been a part of First Tutors since 2016 and have extensive tutoring experience. I have always had a passion for tutoring and I have been actively involved in group study session since university.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that each student is different and the teaching techniques need to be catered to suit their requirements. I follow a student based teaching method, where I assess the student and try to find the best means to approach tutoring.

I was very surprised that once Emily commented that math could actually be fun, this coming from a kid that does not like math. At each session, Shriya made sure that Emily understood the concepts, and also encouraged Emily to practice on additional problems and exercises from her text book. Shriya also focused on Emily's weaknesses and always gave her supplementary homework for practice.
Shriya has a pleasant personality, she is very polite and always punctual. Shriya provided recommendations on various methods on how Emily should deepen her studies and improve her marks. She made herself available when Emily went through her exam period, providing responses and problem solving in short notice.
We would definitely like to continue with Shriya as Emily's tutor in grade 10.
