Personal Description:

Hello my name is Shealyn and I am a Specialized Learning Strategist. I work with students one-on-one who are in need of extra help and/or are experiencing the difficulties of having a learning disability. I graduated in 2016 with a degree in psychology and child developmental education. I teach English, reading and writing, ESL, mathematics and more.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching since 2016 and have experience teaching students with ADD, ADHD, autism, anxiety, Asperger syndrome, verbal apraxia, down syndrome, and more.

Tutoring Approach:

I use the Orton Gillinham approach which consists of using multi-sensory (visual, auditory, tactile) methods and breaking steps down so they are more easily understood. I have a nack for finding out what works best for each individual student and showing them strategies they can use to make learning easier!
