Personal Description:

I am PhD student in Immunology. I aspire to pursue a career in academia since I love doing science and I enjoy teaching. While I was in high school, I used to help my friends and classmates understand concepts very clearly and that was when I discovered my passion for teaching.

Tutoring Experience:

I have tutored many high school kids while doing my Bachelor's in India.
I have been tutoring undergrads in Montreal (from McGill and Concordia) for the past 1 year, while doing my Master's at UQAM.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to have discussions rather than just talking to my students. I like to listen and I encourage them to talk more, so that they can articulate their thoughts better, which helps in deepening conceptual understanding. I make sure that my students understand the significance and relevance of the subjects they are learning. Since I am a researcher myself, I can give examples of real-life situations where students might have to apply their knowledge.

I adapt myself to the needs of the student. I can either help to score in exams or help in understanding concepts or do both. If there is not enough time to dive deep into a subject, I can help to focus on exams, give tips and tricks to pass. If the student wants to pursue the subject more, I can provide useful resources and help to dig deeper.
