Information About Sarah
Montreal tutorPersonal Description:
I am a second year student studying Spanish literature and culture at McGill University. I grew up in the UK, however I am a Canadian citizen and moved to Montreal to start university. At McGill I also study French and Sociology, however Spanish is my major concentration and main passion.
I developed a passion for languages in secondary school and, living in Europe, I have been fortunate enough to spend time in both Spain and France to be able to develop my oral ability.
In the future I wish to study international law.
Tutoring Experience:
I am a part of the McGill tutoring services for students at the university, as a French tutor. This has given me the opportunity to acquire skills in developing session plans on the spot, according to the students' abilities, needs or goals.
I have spent time in my local primary school, as work experience, during which I was able to deliver a couple of Spanish lessons to students in grade 3 and 4.
Tutoring Approach:
I like to initially assess the skill level of the student and hear their concerns and goals about specific areas of the language or a course. From this information I can plan out future sessions, all the while requesting feedback to keep focus on the students needs.
