Personal Description:

Hi everyone, my name is Sahana. I am currently a Biology student at the University of Windsor and I aspire to be a doctor.

Tutoring Experience:

I went to Kumon for approximately a decade and I found their methods very useful as a student in early years and elementary. I have also tutored kids in my neighbourhood in Mathematics and English to help prepare them for higher studies in high school as I know what is required in secondary school.

Tutoring Approach:

Firstly, I like to review basic skills to ensure the student and I are on the same page about certain topics. Then I believe practice makes perfect so I do a number of exercises to ensure the student is comfortable with the topic at hand. Then we can move onto application questions which require a more indirect flow of thinking and this may show up on a test the student takes in school. After this I can assign the student problems and/or worksheets so the student can do and then I can correct them during the next session so they learn from their mistakes.
