Personal Description:
I'm a dedicated, experienced math and science tutor who's had the privilege of teaching many diverse and bright students at the universities of McGill (as an undergrad in Electrical Engineering), Oxford (as a PhD student), Columbia (as a postdoc researcher), and Haverford (as a physics instructor for blind students). I now work at Defence Canada as a research scientist in satellite imaging.
Tutoring Experience:
During my PhD at Oxford, I did college tutoring for undergraduate students in various math and engineering classes, both individually and in small groups. At Haverford, I spent a year teaching MATLAB and physics to a blind student. While at McGill, I created a set of online course notes and worked problems for a multivariable calculus class I TAed during two semesters. Overall, I've been tutoring for over 15 years, and still love it!
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to teaching and learning science is efficient, practical, and results-oriented. I believe in starting from a compact set of basic principles, and learning extensively through practice and worked examples how these principles can be applied to solve many different problems. With me, you'll get the results you need by boosting your problem-solving skills and reasoning, and without having to learn stuff by rote.
