Personal Description:
I have spent a lot of time studying and teaching physics. Problem-solving skills are crucial to success in many areas of life, including physics. After evaluating a new student, I get to know their learning style and the concepts they find the most challenging. I can assist students in building their understanding of concepts like Newton's Laws or elastic and inelastic collision.
Tutoring Experience:
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. I majored in Physics. While I worked towards my degree, I spent time tutoring students and grading papers in the Physics Help Desk station. This experience helped me learn to identify the cause of errors and help students learn from their mistakes. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Physics.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe that it's my job as a physics tutor to help my students learn how to get to the right answer, rather than just what the answer is. I work with students to learn to come up with a rational approach on their own, a critical skill that will aid them throughout their life.
