Personal Description:
I've traveled a great deal, in fact I've lived in 31 countries, so I've been abroad most of my life. That means I've studied a lot of languages and had an opportunity to see many different cultures. I work as a grade 12 teacher of literature and academic writing at a private school in Jakarta, Indonesia. I hold a Canadian teaching license, and am a PhD student at Durham, UK. When I'm not doing those things, I enjoy motorcycle touring to megalithic sites especially, hiking, reading, and cooking.
Tutoring Experience:
I've been involved with teaching and tutoring for about 15 years. I've taught at schools, university, and private institutions, as well as one-on-one learning both in-person and online.
Tutoring Approach:
There are three points to my approach to tutoring. One is to try to have some fun. The second is to be be personable and get to know who I'm learning with since it makes that a lot more meaningful, The third part is pacing, some things are best moved over quickly while other lessons are complex and subtle so they need to be taken slow.
