Personal Description:

Hello! My name is Rianna and I am a 2nd-year university student doing a double major in Journalism and Political Science. I am an experienced academic writer and English was my strongest class in high school, which is why I feel confident in helping students improve their reading and writing skills. In high school, I achieved a perfect score on the Advanced Placement English Language and Composition Exam, and also received the Excellence in English Studies Award which was awarded to one student in the graduating class of 2019 who demonstrated advanced abilities in all four years of high school English.

I am currently a writer for Her Campus, a media organization dedicated to writing articles for the female college student demographic. I am also a dedicated member of my university's debate team and I frequently attend tournaments as both a judge and a debater. i have also received my university's highest entrance scholarship.

Tutoring Experience:

I am very familiar with tutoring in general as I have experience in providing private math tutoring in high school. In terms of teaching English, I was selected to become a Peer Academic Leader for junior English classes in which I dedicated my afternoons to helping younger students improve their reading comprehension and essay writing skills.

If you or your child are taking the AP English Language and Composition Exam, I would be happy to provide my own insight and tips about achieving a score of level 4 or higher.

Tutoring Approach:

Since I am currently a university student, I understand the importance of creating a solid educational foundation that can be built upon. First, I would ask for samples of academic writing the student has already produced, and from there I would discuss what strengths and weaknesses we feel we should focus on. I am confident that I can help the student improve their academic writing and critical thinking skills.

In terms of tutoring for the AP English Language and Composition exam, I would assist by providing my own materials and past assignment samples while going over the basic structure of the exam and what to expect.
