Personal Description:

Teaching is something that I am very passionate about. I'm very empathic when it comes to my students, and it is easy for me to identify what they are having trouble with. Naturally, once the issue is identified, it is much easier to address. I find that I can usually achieve a good rapport with my students, which is very beneficial as well.

Tutoring Experience:

I have worked as a teaching assistant for seven years, and am pursuing my Ph.D. at this institution as well. I really enjoy being a physics tutor, and I teach physics at the high school and college levels. One thing I like a lot about tutoring this subject is breaking problems down into smaller pieces that are easy to solve.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring approach is to first establish my student's present level of knowledge and talk over some concepts that they have already been introduced to, in order to see where they are at with them. From there I like to encourage my students to try to solve problems on their own, with my guidance if necessary. I recognize that every student is unique and has their own educational needs so I try to adapt to the situation and try whatever works.
