Personal Description:

I am currently applying to be your tutor. I am a soon-to-be recent graduate of the University of Ottawa’s Teacher Education Bachelor of Education program. I have over 5 years of experience working with students in a wide range of subjects. Recently I finished successfully two practicum placements at high schools in Ottawa’s Riverside area. I have nearly 20 years of history working with students in various coaching, reffing, and teaching positions.

Tutoring Experience:

- Most recently I finished two practicum placements during my second undergraduate degree here in Ottawa.
- Before that I taught ESL in Korea for nearly 5 years to a wide variety of student ages. In some various topics, too.
- I have years of experience working as a summer camp counselor and activity instructor.
- I refereed hockey for many years before retiring when I moved abroad.
- I taught and coached taekwondo in Sudbury.

Tutoring Approach:

We never really stop learning. Problems aren’t necessarily obstacles to overcome, because there will always be new problems. As a tutor, I help my students to develop the skills they need to enjoy problem solving and approach learning as a reward. Learning about life and curiosity for the universe can be very rewarding. Although it takes a willpower of patience and understanding to develop that mindset.
