Personal Description:

Working with a Latin tutor to improve one's understanding of this foundational language is so much more important than many students realize. Learning Latin as an English speaker has benefits that are directly related to the rest of one's English education. It helps students learn to break down words and complex sentences that are often found in school entrance exams and advanced academic coursework.

Tutoring Experience:

Latin is my favorite subject to tutor and I have been studying it tirelessly since high school. I earned my undergraduate degree in Latin and history. I am currently pursuing a teaching certification in Latin.

I find it rewarding to see a student understand a difficult nuance of the language and it is one of the driving forces behind my desire to help teach students this beautiful language.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe it's important to identify each student's current level and their goals prior to beginning. After this, I like to use diagnostic testing to identify the exact themes and concepts we need to target.
