Personal Description:

My name is Oriana and I am a full-time social work student. I am currently in the third year of my social service worker program, and I will be graduating in 2021. I have received a high school diploma, a post-secondary pre-health to advanced studies diploma, the child care and early ears (CCEYA) certificate, mental health studies certificate, and working with students with special educational needs certificates. My highest GPA score is 91.5, and I have been on the honour roll list for a consecutive year.

I have a passion for education as I feel there is so much to know that others can offer. I believe I can make a difference in someone's life from the simple act of tutoring. I am an extremely organized, communicative, and great listener. I can assure you I will provide the best education I can through planning ahead for our sessions, communicating with you where your strengths and weaknesses are, and ensuring you are understanding what is being taught.

Tutoring Experience:

Throughout high school, I was an English tutor for grades 9-10. The tutoring sessions would be before and after school for an hour and consisted of me helping with homework, being a resource if there were any questions, and ensuring their grades were maintained in the grade average they wanted. I also tutor in a private setting for families, and this consists of me bringing my own tools such as quizzes, learning tools, card games, etc. Lastly, I am now a social service worker tutor (SSWK) for first-year students in college. This is an online tutoring session, where I assist students who are struggling in their classes, whether it is understanding certain concepts, finding useful study tools, or being a teacher for them.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is a communicative way. I want to ensure you understand what you're being taught and if there is any confusion, we can sort it out. For each tutoring session, I come prepared with resources such as certain questions regarding the subject, useful studying tools and I keep track of your progress. Based on where we left off last, we will continue the next time we meet. I also keep track of your strengths and weakness, therefore each time we meet we can work on what needs to be strengthened. I always come prepared in an organized, professional, and appropriate manner.

If I am your tutor, I will have a binder for you that will keep us both on track on all the progress you have made. my goal is to give you the knowledge you need to succeed!
