Personal Description:

Hi, my name is Nura and, as a math tutor, I can help your student in geometry, pre-algebra, and algebra as well as IB Mathematics. I can help you in college algebra as well. When working one-on-one with students, I aim to help them become more confident in their abilities.

Tutoring Experience:

I have a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences. I've also taken memory training courses that have taught me about different teaching methods, which I incorporate into my work helping students learn. Tutoring my younger sibling has enabled me to develop a methodology that I apply to tutoring. I also volunteered as a tutor while growing up in Jordan.

Tutoring Approach:

My focus is on helping understand course material and instilling confidence in my students. After determining their strengths and weaknesses, I try different teaching styles to find what is most effective for a particular student's learning. I also motivate them by setting small goals and using multiple practice questions, while breaking each problem down into smaller elements to help understand underlying concepts.
