Personal Description:

My name is Nika, I'm an independent singer and performer from Ukraine. My musical journey began at the Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music named after R.M. Glier, where I studied singing, coaching, dancing, and acting.

During my student years, I joined a local rock band as the lead singer and songwriter. We toured across Ukraine, performing at the country's biggest festivals.

After my time with the rock band, I formed a cover band and performed at various events and venues in Ukraine. Our journey eventually took us to China, where we played in restaurants and private events.

My passion for dancing and acting led me to become a production singer on cruise ships. On the ship's theatres, I embraced different styles, singing genres from rock to musical theatre. I performed pop music, danced with professional dancers, and played characters like Ursula in "The Little Mermaid" and Wednesday in "The Addams Family." I was also part of a circus show, singing on an aerial hoop and a moving stage alongside talented acrobats. In addition to English, I sang in Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish, Italian, and French.

Now, my journey has brought me to Toronto. I’m excited to continue performing, explore the Canadian stage, create new shows and characters, and share my knowledge and experience with those passionate about singing and performing. I am a dreamer, and I’m dedicated to helping others make their dreams come true.

Tutoring Experience:

Since I started teaching in 2012, I’ve helped many students find their way as singers. It’s been amazing to watch them grow and develop their unique voices.

I’ve worked with students at all levels, from those just starting to experienced performers looking to improve. My lessons cover a range of genres like pop, rock, and musical theatre, and I always tailor them to fit each student’s goals and interests.

I also make sure my lessons are practical and supportive, giving each student what they need to progress as a performer.

Helping my students explore their style and start their musical journeys is something I’m really passionate about. It’s been a rewarding experience to guide them as they take their first steps in the world of music.

My approach to tutoring focuses on building strong vocal techniques while making sure students enjoy the learning process. I believe motivation is key, so I encourage my students to choose what they want to work on, whether it's a specific song, style, or skill they’re passionate about.

I tailor each lesson to fit the student’s individual needs and goals, ensuring that they feel engaged and excited about their progress. While I emphasize the importance of solid technique, I also want my students to feel free to explore and express themselves.

By creating a supportive and enjoyable learning environment, I help students stay motivated and develop a love for singing that goes beyond the technical aspects. My goal is to guide them in a way that makes the process both rewarding and fun, fostering a lifelong passion for music.
