Personal Description:
I have recently completed an Honours Bachelor of Science with a major in Health Sciences and a minor in both Biology and Chemistry. I will now be continuing my studies to complete a Master of Science degree in Physiotherapy. In addition to my dedication to academics, I have been largely involved in extracurriculars such as an executive member of the Faculty of Science Students Association, Co-Founder of the Health Sciences Terry Fox Run Team, member of the Laurier University Charity Council and a member of the Laurier Supporting SickKids Club.
Tutoring Experience:
I have over 7 years of experience tutoring elementary math and science to children with learning disabilities, experience tutoring high school level math, and experience tutoring various math and chemistry courses at the undergraduate university level. I was also an Instructional Assistant for Nutrition and Human Health, a third-year university course.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to teaching can vary as I learn what works best for each student. I am able to do this by allowing them to show me what they know and then to work through problems that they struggle with rather than simply explaining how something works. Identifying a student's learning style is key in the way that I approach teaching, however, continuous communication and feedback from the student is essential to allow them to achieve the greatest level of success.
