Information About Nicolas
Westmount tutorPersonal Description:
Hi!
I'm a Nova Scotia native with a bachelor's degree from Dalhousie University and a current pursuit of a master's degree in English at Concordia University. As someone who has always had a passion for language and literature, I've developed professional level expertise in writing.
During my undergraduate studies, I took various social science courses such as Sociology, Social Anthropology, Psychology, and Political Science. Currently, my master's thesis includes extensive sociological components, making me confident in my ability to tutor social science courses.
Additionally, being a native French speaker, I'm happy to tutor French up to the high-school level.
Tutoring Experience:
In 2022, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for Concordia's English Department. During this time, I lead tutorials, prepared and taught new material, graded coursework, and held office hours where I worked one-on-one with students to improve their understanding or to give advice on essays.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to Tutoring is very flexible primarily student led. If the student knows exactly what they'd like to work on, I mold my lessons to those needs. If my student has existing instruction from a teacher, I prefer to center my tutoring around the meeting the learning outcomes given by the student's teacher/professor.
