Personal Description:
Mistakes are an essential component of the learning process, but so many students approach education with an irrational fear of making mistakes. I try to create a study environment where mistakes are encouraged, helping students develop a lifelong love of learning without worrying about messing up. I also find that confident students tend to earn better grades, so I look for confidence-boosting opportunities whenever I can.
Tutoring Experience:
I have tutored students since my second semester in college in subjects such as chemistry, microbiology, neuroscience, and French. I am currently studying Biological Sciences and plan to eventually earn a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry.
Tutoring Approach:
Becoming a great chemistry tutor is an ongoing process, so I always ask my students for their honest feedback on how I could have helped them more effectively. I also prioritize critical thinking skills over rote memorization because you are not truly educated unless you can apply it in a variety of contexts.
