Personal Description:
I kind of became a physics tutor by accident. When I was an undergraduate student, my classmates used to come up to me after class and ask me to explain that day's lecture. I found that I was consistently able to clear up any misunderstandings they had and decided to start a tutoring service. My clients told their friends about me, and I soon had a ton of students!
Tutoring Experience:
I have experience tutoring a variety of STEM subjects, including physics, algebra, trigonometry, Calculus 1-3, differential equations, pre-calculus, advanced linear algebra, chemistry, and introductory computer science courses. I learned how to read body language in the military, a skill that actually helps me better understand what students need help with.
Tutoring Approach:
Physics (and most STEM subjects) is cumulative, so I like to ensure that students have a solid grasp of the fundamentals before moving on to more difficult concepts. I also believe that encouragement can be a key motivator when utilized correctly.
