Personal Description:
My name is Mitchell and I have been a teacher within Simcoe County District School Board for over ten years. I am a father of two young boys and get to share many of my passions with them.
Tutoring Experience:
-3 years teaching grade 5 at American International School Abu Dhabi - All subjects except for native language
-12 years teaching various grades 1-8 - with the SCDSB
-Ran a lunch time math program for students who wanted extra guidance.
-Coached multiple levels of basketball including Junior Varsity, Junior elementary, intermediate elementary.
-Coaches high level skiing racing for over 15 years.
Tutoring Approach:
Teaching and tutoring is about meeting the needs of each individual. My approach to tutoring is to find the methods or strategies that work best for that student. On top of that though, building confidence and celebrating successes is a very big part of the process. My goal with all students is to create an sense of enjoyment for whatever subject we might be working through.
