Personal Description:

I tutor several subject areas related to reading, writing, language, and literature. I work with first graders to develop their reading and writing skills, and on up through elementary school, middle school and high school. I also work with university level students who need help with College English or creative writing classes. I can help with all kinds of test prep.

Tutoring Experience:

I have a bachelor's degree in Church and Family Ministries and am certified to teach. I have several years' experience teaching, in a traditional classroom setting, and homeschooling my own family, and am a frequent contributor to a publication devoted to homeschooling and education.

Tutoring Approach:

I try to find the approach that is going to work best for each student individually, and this often means tailoring the material so that it relates to their experiences and interests. When the subject is relatable, students are more likely to engage with it.
