Personal Description:

For several years I have been working with students through educational nonprofits. I am available to lend my expertise as an English tutor to anyone ranging from young learners enrolled in elementary school reading, to university students taking College English courses. Whether it's grasping the nuts and bolts of English grammar and syntax, or if you need some feedback on your poems for a creative writing class, I'm ready to work with you.

Tutoring Experience:

I am a Learning and Evaluation Director with a not-for-profit group that works with local schools. I have a BS in Journalism and am certified to teach grades seven through twelve in English, reading and language arts.

Tutoring Approach:

I always look for that teachable moment, and find often it comes out of the student's own personal experiences. Early in our sessions, I like to lead by example, and then gradually I step away until the student is doing much of the work on their own.
