Tutoring Experience:

Tutoring Approach:
I believe that my role as a tutor is to make my student academically independent. I aim to take a Socratic method - a methods based in asking questions.T Asking questions enable me to effectively do the following:
1) determine problem areas for the student
2) determine what a student knows
3) help a student determine the right answer
4) see if a student can apply new skills
I also enjoy taking a student-centred approach, where we focus on topics that the student identifies as critical for their growth. Overall, my teaching goal aims to engage the student in the material for improved long-term memory. Through my tutoring approach, I will help the student create effective study habits and a strong skill set to succeed in their current courses, as well as for future learning.
