Personal Description:

I have more than 44 years of experience teaching math, including many years as a math tutor. I can tutor students from first grade through college level on math topics. I can also help students prepare for the Math and Quantitative sections of standardized tests like the ACT, SAT, and others. If you're going to college and want help preparing for a math-based entrance exam, I can help you study effectively for that as well.

Tutoring Experience:

I earned my bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education and went on to earn my master's degree in Mathematics as well. I then spent 37 years as a middle school math teacher. I decided retirement wasn't my thing, so I now work as a math interventionist. I also have a Mathematics Teacher Education certificate.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe the things my students resist doing are the things they should be spending more time doing. That's how they get better at it, especially math. When I first tutor a student, I like to get to know what they think their problem with math is and also talk about what they enjoy so we can work that into our lessons.
