Personal Description:

I am currently studying at York University majoring in Political Science. I have a passion for teaching and have experience in the classroom as well as private one-to-one tutoring. As well as english I am also fluent in turkish.

Tutoring Experience:

I have experience as a teacher's assistant in a special education classroom for the course of a semester during grade 11. During this I aided the teacher in general activities alongside coordinating various activities to enrich class learning, communicated with students to help stay calm and on task and taking lead in the classroom. I have also tutored young children privately, in Turkey as an english tutor, and in Canada helping with language and math.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is ensuring above all, that the student remains engaged in whatever it is they are learning. I believe regardless of degrees or qualifications, if you can not keep students engaged and communicate the importance of what they are learning, they will not retain any information. During the beginning of my time with a student I will gauge their skill level and create personalized plans and periodic assessments from there on. I also make sure to pay close attention to their learning process and tendencies to work out how I can meet their needs.
