Personal Description:

I first learned Latin as a child thanks to having parents who met in a Latin course in college. However, it wasn't until college that I began to seriously pursue the language. It has subsequently become a passion of mine that I pursue through ongoing educational opportunities, translation efforts, and reading.

Tutoring Experience:

I earned my undergraduate degree in Latin and Roman History. After graduation, I began teaching Latin at a private school part-time. Later, I became a private Latin tutor and then taught Latin, classical history, and composition to students in grades six through twelve. I am currently pursuing a graduate degree in education and teaching certification.

Tutoring Approach:

I truly understand that learning is an individual journey and no two students take that journey in exactly the same way. I believe it's important to encourage students to advocate for themselves by asking questions anytime they don't understand something and I provide a consistent routine to help prevent the student from becoming overwhelmed.
