Personal Description:

I am a part-time German and ESL instructor. I teach elementary and intermediate German language classes. For students at the beginner level of German, I introduce the language to them through culture and show them the joys and possibilities of learning a new language. For more intermediate and advanced students I also focus on language acquisition through culture but focus on reading, writing, speaking, and listening more intensively. I have and continue to walk in the shoes of the language learner and would love to share my experience and expertise with you.

Tutoring Experience:

I have a bachelor's degree with a double major in Anglophone Studies and French Language and Culture. I have also completed a master's degree specializing in Language Studies and TESL. I am an ideal candidate for the role of German tutor because of my language background and qualifications, particularly my degree in Language Studies and Pedagogy with an emphasis on teaching German as a foreign language. I have taught at the university level for the past 3 years and have ten years of experience privately tutoring students in grades 5 to 12 in foreign languages.

Tutoring Approach:

I see myself as the facilitator and motivator in the language learning process. My teaching is designed to meaningful contextualize language learning in the real world and exposing students to relatable language situations. It is important to provide the right exercises to show why language learning is important and introduce effective learning tools. I make sure to cater to a variety of different learners and try to personalize the learning material and approach.
