Personal Description:

I strive to help students get the most out of their study sessions. As an English tutor, I have a thorough understanding of the concepts and skills it takes to make progress in class. I can help high school students prepare for the ACT Writing through practice scenarios or go over study skills, for instance.

Tutoring Experience:

I hold a bachelor's degree in Philosophy. I went on to obtain my master's degree in the same field. I have worked as a teacher and a tutor for eight years, during which time I have worked with students from kindergarten to college.

Tutoring Approach:

I combine my philosophical education with direct instruction to provide a more individualized learning experience. I aim to gradually build upon my student's current level of knowledge, which can allow them to develop a stronger understanding of skills and concepts, like reading strategies or essay editing. I let my student guide our sessions so we always focus on the topics most relevant to them.
