Personal Description:
I am a University of McGill graduate with over 2 years of teaching and tutoring experience, and most importantly, I love Mathematics; always have, always will. As a student, Mathematics was my favourite topic, and now getting to share my passion for Math with my students is a truly rewarding experience. Whether we are talking about fractions, ratios, algebra, geometry or any other mathematical subject, I truly take pleasure in discussing, explaining and breaking down the fundamentals to enable greater understanding for my students so that they may approach new mathematical problems with comfort and ease.
Tutoring Experience:
I have over 2 years of experience both as a teacher and as a tutor with adults and students between the ages 6 and 18. I Also have experience teaching foreign/immigrant students after volunteering with OCISO for a summer, and preparing high school students in China for the overseas university exams.
Tutoring Approach:
Isolate what is causing a problem for the student and break things down in such a way that makes things simpler and easier to understand. Then have the student say it back to me in their own words to make sure they understand and finally, practice makes perfect, that is to say go over mathematical problems that enable the students to apply what they have just learned.
