Information About Kevin
Sainte-Thérèse tutorPersonal Description:
I have a Bachelor's degree in High School Mathematics Teaching from Université du Québec à Montréal as well as a Teaching Certificate issued by the Ministère de l'Éducation et de l'Enseignement Supérieur du Québec.
Tutoring Experience:
Over the past 6 years, I have developed an expertise in private teaching as a self-employed worker as well as an employee for Succes Scolaire, Clinique Neurone and currently AlloProf. During my college years, I had the opportunity to do an international internship at the École Canadienne de Tunis in addition to working as a research assistant at the Laboratoire Epistemologie et Activite Mathematiques and course assistant for MAT3227 - Didactique des mathématiques II et laboratoire.
Tutoring Approach:
When teaching mathematics I put a heavy emphasis on first principles, pattern recognition and strategy in problem solving. I believe in the Socratic method of teaching, which means I will guide the learner with a series of questions rather than lead with a series of statements. This way the student not only learns to do mathematics, but he also learns how to be an active seeker of truth.
