Personal Description:

My name is Kerry , and I am currently an incoming student at Queen’s University’s Smith School of Business. I will be graduating with an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma from Glenforest Secondary School with a 97.5% average and a predicted 43/45 IB points. I have very high levels of achievement in English, French, economics and mathematics.

I absolutely love collaborating with people; in fact, I spend the vast majority of my free time volunteering with non-profit organizations across my city, such as Trillium Health Partners and the Peel Environmental Youth Alliance. My love for volunteerism directly translates into my love for teaching others. I have been a private tutor ever since grade 9 because I absolutely love seeing the amount of progress each of my students continues to achieve after our lessons. I strive to encourage my students to become greater critical thinkers and lifelong learners.

Tutoring Experience:

I began private tutoring in grade 9, and I absolutely love helping my students succeed in each subject. In addition, as a result of my high levels of achievement in various subjects, I have also helped several classmates do well in their courses.

Tutoring Approach:

I am known to be friendly and have a lot of patience. Our lessons will follow a goal-oriented approach; together, we will determine the students level of learning and then set realistic goals for the student to achieve each lesson. This way, my lessons are tailored to each individual student to help them in the most effective way possible. I will also create worksheets and tests for the student to complete, that I will then mark. I want to see my students succeed, and I am always available outside of class time to answer any questions they have if necessary.
